Squats with a barbell or on a Smith machine are hard work, and a bare bar can dig in. The pad spreads the load over a wider area, and its contoured shape helps the bar sit securely on your shoulders, so you aren’t pushing your shoulders back just to hold it in place. For hip thrusts, it sits over the hips and softens the contact with the bar.
It fits both 25mm and 50mm bars, so it suits most home and gym setups.
